Build comfort on proper heat-loss figures
Whole-property assessment
We examine insulation, heat loss and hot-water demand before system sizing.
Emitter checks included
Radiators and underfloor heating are reviewed against the required flow temperature.
Clear control handover
We explain schedules and settings so everyday operation isn't left to guesswork.
Size the system before chasing efficiency
An air source heat pump extracts heat from outside air and transfers it into a compatible home heating and hot-water system. It works differently from a boiler, so correct design matters. We assess heat loss, insulation, room-by-room heating needs and hot-water demand before equipment is selected. We also inspect possible outdoor-unit positions and the space available for indoor components.
Radiators or underfloor heating must release enough warmth at the planned flow temperature. If emitters are too small, comfort can suffer or the system may need to work harder. We identify these points during design, while changes can still be planned properly.

Controls and emitters set up to work together
After the survey, we design the system and agree the equipment positions, heating connections and any required emitter changes. Installation then covers the outdoor unit, indoor components, pipework, controls and electrical connections before commissioning. At handover, we explain operating temperatures, schedules and control settings so you know what normal use looks like. Solar PV and battery storage can also form part of a broader household energy plan. We assess each technology on its own merits, then consider how daytime generation and stored electricity may support electric heating demand.
Frequently asked questions
Will my existing radiators work with a heat pump?
They may, but we need to compare each room's heat loss with the output available at the planned flow temperature. Some radiators may need resizing. We establish this during design rather than assuming the current emitters are suitable.
Where can the outdoor heat pump unit be fitted?
The position must allow suitable airflow, access and pipe routing while accounting for the building and nearby spaces. We inspect practical locations during the survey and consider how the unit will connect to the rest of the heating system.
Can a heat pump work with solar panels and a battery?
These technologies can form part of one household energy plan, but their sizes and controls still need separate assessment. Solar generation may support daytime electrical demand, while a battery's useful role depends on capacity, tariffs and heating patterns.
