Get more than panels fixed to a roof

Roof condition considered

We check whether the available area suits the proposed layout before fitting.

Daytime use explained

Your normal routine helps show how much generated electricity may be used directly.

Monitoring made clear

We show you how to read generation data and recognise normal variation.

Start with the roof and your electricity use

Home solar panels generate electricity from daylight, helping reduce the amount you need to buy from the grid. The useful output depends on much more than the panel label. We examine roof direction, usable area, shading and condition, then compare the proposed array with your household consumption.
Around 20 solar installations are completed in a standard month, giving our team regular experience of different roof layouts and electrical arrangements. Before fitting, we explain access and scaffolding requirements, where the inverter may sit and how cables could reach the consumer equipment. You know what needs clearing or unlocking before the installation team arrives.

Know where the generated electricity goes

Panels produce during daylight, so households that use more electricity during those hours may consume a larger share directly. If the home is quiet all day, battery storage may help retain suitable surplus power for later. We compare those patterns during planning rather than adding storage automatically. Installation covers access setup, panel fitting, inverter connection, electrical work, commissioning and monitoring. At handover, we show you how to view generation and explain why daily output moves with weather and season. Access to the loft, meter and consumer unit may be needed, so we confirm those points beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

Will solar panels still generate electricity on cloudy days?

Yes. Solar PV uses daylight, so panels can generate electricity when the sky is cloudy, although output is usually lower than in strong sunlight. Weather, season, shading, roof direction and system size all affect what you see on a given day.

Do I need to clear the loft before installation?

We may need access to the loft, meter, consumer unit or proposed inverter position, depending on the design. You don't need to empty the whole house. We confirm the required access before installation so the relevant areas can be reached safely.

How can I use more of the electricity my panels generate?

Running suitable appliances during daylight can increase direct use. A correctly sized battery may store surplus for later. We look at your daily consumption pattern and explain the practical options instead of assuming every household needs the same setup.
